Another Fantastic Show!

The 2022 Dahlia Show was one of the best.  There were 173 entries and over 25 entrants.  Of those 25 over half were first time exhibitors.  The Utah Dahlia Society is growing and we are excited by the enthusiasm of so many new growers.  Our show was held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Garden Center at Sugarhouse Park.  It was a beautiful fall day and we had record numbers come to see our beautiful blooms.  Show coordinator Clea Hurst did a wonderful job and the day went off without a hitch.  The photo contest for our 2023 calendar was a fun part of the festivities.  Karen Dreyfus oversaw the voting and will let us know when we can place our orders.  Events like this don't happen without the help of so many. Our show committee took care of planning, set-up, refreshments, and clean-up.  The arrangements that we sell are made with beautiful dahlias donated by Spence Mortensen and the Williams (Ryan & Julie).  All proceeds from the sale of these arrangements helps keep our club afloat. Each person's effort was noticed and appreciated.  Here is a complete listing of the show results:

Utah Dahlia Society Exhibition Show

12:30 to 3:30 pm

Psst: To put a bug in your ear and hopefully on your calendar come join us.  There will be bouquets of flower for sale starting at 12:30.

Where:  Sugarhouse Garden Center - 1610 East 2100 South - Salt Lake City just East of Sugarhouse Park.

To Enter Dahlias:  Bring to Garden Center Saturday between 7:30 to 9:00 AM.  Please have your dahlias staged and identified and ready to show by 9:00 AM so judging can begin.

PRESENTATION BY RYAN & JULIE WILLIAMS OWNERS OF STONEHOUSE DAHLIAS

After our election, we headed into Ryan and Julie William's greenhouse for lessons on how to start a cutting for a new dahlia, how to package and ship a dahlia, then knowledge on how to water, light and warm the greenhouse all winter long.  Love their success and every minute of their presentation including a view of their greenhouse setup.  Thank you Ryan and Julie.
